About this event
On Saturday, December 17th, families and local residents of all ages are invited to attend Winter / Fest: a free family-friendly festival with interactive crafts and games, a market to shop local artisan vendors, photos with Santa, live local music and more! The event will run from 11am-3pm on the Billie Jean King Library Terrace at Lincoln Park in Downtown Long Beach.
Attendees can begin lining up for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus at 11am and will be able to take photos between 11:30am-12:30pm and from 1pm-2pm. There will also be a festive photo booth. Before or after their photos with Santa, families can enjoy three rounds of children’s story times inside the library at 11am, 12:30 and at 2pm.
Shop small and locally made at the holiday market on the steps of the Billie Jean King Library curated by Sip Then Shop, featuring pop ups with a variety of artisan crafts made and designed by local artists. Sip Then Shop is a women-owned business that hosts a series of small pop-up events at local small venues and breweries.
Winter/Fest will feature live music by She Sings, She Swings, a local swing jazz group inspired by Django Reinhardt, The Boswell Sisters and The Andrews Sisters. They will play throughout the entire event.
Kids are also invited to make their own little Christmas Tree, Snowman and Gingerbread craft at activity stations scattered throughout the fest sponsored by the library and the Downtown Long Beach Alliance. There will also be a bounce house, balloon animals, face painting and lawn games sponsored by Long Beach Parks, Recreation, and Marine.
Attendees can park in the parking structure next to the Billie Jean King Library or in local metered street parking.
