Big Sky Skiing Experience‼️
Big Sky is known as the largest ski resort in the United States. With a snoqualmie pass from Seattle, you can even ski for free for three days 😄
We planned a trip to Big Sky on the first weekend of March and booked our Airbnb three months in advance. Luckily, we managed to snag a four-person Airbnb for $360 per night.
‼️ The Yelp reviews for this place are unreliable. We had a disappointing experience for all three nights. The best option for food at the resort is still the fried chicken, fries, and burgers.
The ski resort is truly massive. Our favorite was the Swift Current chairlift, which also had the longest wait time. It was the least icy area despite the icy conditions overall. They have slopes for all skill levels, and I had a blast following my skilled friends through the small forests. It was so much fun!
😄 Skiing Conditions:
During the days we were there, there was no fresh snow, so it was decent when the sun was out, but icy when it was cloudy. However, imagine how amazing it would be with fresh snow. Big Sky could be a paradise for skiers of all levels with its varied terrains and wide slopes. The only downside was that many areas near the mountaintop had low snow coverage, and you would occasionally hit rocks, which could damage your skis and be scary. Unfortunately, the tram to the highest peak was closed during our visit, so we couldn't see the most beautiful scenery or what the legendary "Three Black Runs" looked like.
🌟 Experience:
Despite the tram being closed, we managed to ski on three peaks in two days. However, the best skiing was on the largest peak. Even though there were long lines for the chairlifts, once on the mountain, we hardly saw anyone, and we could ski freely. I even reached a new personal speed record of 37mph, hehe. If there had been fresh powder snow, Six Shooter on the far right side should have been very exciting too. In addition, we thought we were doing well and tried the Challenger lift, only to find out that all the black runs were closed, and we had to take a difficult path called "Double Black Run" to make our way down.
Looking forward to coming back to Big Sky in snowy conditions!
