A Sweaty Day Trip to Downtown LA‼️
Taking a walk in LA could really be a challenge. This time, we discovered a series of attractions in downtown within walking distance. The streets are relatively clean and beautiful, making them perfect for a power walk!
✅Red bird
A beautiful small restaurant with skylights, creating a wonderful atmosphere. It's suitable for brunch and fine dining. The cuisine is pretty standard. If you don't make a reservation in advance, you might be seated at the bar.
📍114 E 2nd St, Los Angeles, CA 90012
✅The Last Bookstore
Known as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, and it doesn't disappoint! There's a mix of new books, used books, vinyl records, as well as art galleries and little craft shops. With plenty of seating, it's a perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon reading. The paper books here are exquisite, it'll make you reminisce about the original form of reading.
(ps. It seems like there was a weekend market just outside, selling snacks, fruits and vegetables, clothing and accessories. So check it out!)
📍453 South Spring Street Ground Floor, 121 5th St SUITE 505, Los Angeles, CA 90013
✅Grand Central Market
A must-visit market in Los Angeles and seemingly, the liveliest food court I've visited in LA. It offers a variety of snacks from around the world, along with Mexican spices and dry goods.
📍317 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013
✅Angels Flight Railway
Located opposite the central market, it's the shortest railway in the world, which is a La La Land filming location (I just realized that ITZY also filmed an MV here). A one-way ticket costs one dollar. We chose to go up and found ourselves in the downtown CBD area.
✅The Broad Museum of Modern Art
We didn't plan to go initially, but seeing a queue outside this unique building, we realized it was an art museum. You can scan the QR code onsite to book tickets and enter the main building for free (some exhibitions may charge fees), or you can reserve a ticket in advance through their official website. It mainly features contemporary American art.
✅Walking downtown
The streets here are clean and spacious, and the buildings along the road all have pretty cool designs. There's the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Ahmanson Theatre, and Grand Park (where there was a Day of the Dead event when we were there), plus the public library. Perfect for strolling!
