💛 Yangmingshan
Originally called Caoshan, named after the grass that grows abundantly there, it was renamed Yangmingshan in memory of Wang Yangming. It boasts picturesque scenery, green mountains, and verdant valleys. This was the filming location for the camping scene in the movie "Our Times," which features Hsu Tai-yu and Lin Truly after their school celebration.
⚠️ Walking-free route: Xiao You Keng - Qingtiangang - Menghuan Lake - Yangmingshan Appreciation
🧡 Xiao You Keng
It was my first time at Xiao You Keng, and I was genuinely amazed by experiencing the sulphur smell of the volcano up close!
✨ It is a post-volcano geological landscape area. The sides are adorned with lush green grass, and steam continuously exudes from the entire volcanic crater visible from the trail!
✨ The hint of sulphur in the air comes from sulphur vents that hiss as they release gases from areas where the earth's crust is thinner.
✨ I also saw arrays of crystalline, needle-like stunning sulphur crystals - such a unique experience~
💛 Qingtiangang
Yet another place that left me in awe…
As far as the eye can see, there's a lush prairie with verdant, velvety grass – like a carpet spread over the landscape.
It was a scene I'd never witnessed before, a gentle and endearing mountain that soothes the soul.
Water buffaloes abound on the prairie, leisurely grazing; the expansive view is truly beautiful!
🧡 Menghuan Lake
A swamp lake and bird habitat, enveloped in mist - romantic and mysterious. A veritable utopia teeming with life. Make a wish at Menghuan Lake!
You can savour plenty of local Taiwanese snacks and fruits on Yangmingshan, and even partake in tea picking.
Yangmingshan's hot spring eggs, cooked in natural hot springs, are also a local specialty.
🚇 Transportation
1⃣ Take the Tamsui-Xinyi Line of the MRT, alight at Jian Tan station, and then take bus (red line 5) to Yangmingshan Station. From the station, take bus 108 to the various attractions of Yangmingshan.
2⃣ Take the Royal Coach (bound for Jinshan) from Taipei Station to Yangmingshan National Park Administration Office.
