Handmade Turkish Mosaic Lamp in Taipei✨
I went to two Turkish mosaic lamp workshops in Taipei, here are my thoughts:
✅ Artist Mosaic Craft Studio
Located near Zhongshan Station, convenient to reach by bus and Metro.
✨: The instructor speaks Mandarin very fluently, is humorous, and is genuinely serious about teaching. They also allow students to bring out their creativity, and the assistants are also very dedicated.
✨ They provide Turkish tea (which doesn't have much taste) & cake (which is super delicious).
✅ Mosaic Art Studio
Located near Dongmen Metro Station, very close to the Metro.
Overall, I went twice, and I feel that this place is more relaxed compared to the previous one, and perhaps lacks a bit in quality.
1⃣ First visit: The class was taught by the actual Turkish instructor mentioned in the advertisements. His Mandarin is very good, humorous, but he is more strict. He pays close attention if the mosaic is pressed properly so as to avoid glue marks later. Since I was new, the instructor even helped me stick two patterns. After teaching for about 10 minutes, the instructors disappear and let the students create freely.
2⃣ Second visit: The class was taught by someone who felt like an assistant, who wasn't very serious in teaching but spent the whole time chatting and laughing with the female assistants. It was awkwardly intimate.
✨Both times, they provided Turkish tea & rice pudding (also very delicious).
✨The instructor taught the key points (pressing the mosaic tightly to squeeze out the air from the glue). There is a coupon of 100 Yuan.
