Casa Batlló, renowned for its peculiar shape, is regarded as one of the classics in architectural design history and is believed to be Gaudí's finished work, bearing the highest degree of Nouveau Art naturalistic style.
🌟 Through the reconstruction of the facade, reorganization of the partition walls, and the enlargement of the original patio which was built in 1875, Gaudí transformed Casa Batlló into one of his most poetic artistic creations.
⭐️ The main facade, covered in wavy surfaces of multi-colored glazed ceramic circles and different colored glass pieces, stands out from afar like a stone thrown into a pond full of waterlilies. The interior design adheres to Gaudí's consistent style, devoid of sharp corners, and only composed of rounded wave-like shapes. He believed that there are no straight lines in nature - those belong to humans; curves belong to God. The main living room on the first floor is the most exquisite part of the house; the ceiling a gigantic spiral, resembling whirlpools in the sea with a sea anemone style chandelier at the center.
💦 The higher the floor, the closer to the ceiling, the darker the color of the patio tiles, transitioning from light to dark blue. The water ripple-patterned glass along the stairs reflecting the wall color gives the illusion of being submerged in the ocean.
✨ The roof resembles a dragon's back, and while you can't see the dragon's head or tail, the dragon scales, spine, and ribs are distinguishable. The dragon's belly, the attic, is the interior of the dragon's back: the primary color is ivory white, equipped with a finely crafted catenary arch, reflecting Gaudí's tendency towards naturalism.
✨ There are many types of tickets available, and the goldenticket includes a pad: most of the original furniture has been removed from the building, but through the pad, while listening to the audio guide, you can imagine the entirety of the rooms. Moreover, there's no need to line up and you can visit exclusive exhibition areas.
✨ The 360-degree immersion LED show just before the end is terrific! The cultural and creative surroundings are very rich. I bought a fridge magnet mainly for its convenience. However, the coffee mugs are really artistic - something to consider for those visiting!
