This time I booked a tour to the Chiang Mai Elephant Camp, due to time constraints I chose a half-day trip to Kanta Camp (🍑 decided on this), super recommended!
The camp is about one hour's drive from Chiang Mai Old City, the tour guide will pick up and drop off at the hotel. The afternoon tour I signed up for picks up just after 1 p.m., and delivers you back to the hotel at 6 p.m., it's a very relaxed and enjoyable itinerary without any fatigue!
After arriving at the camp, the guide will briefly introduce everyone to the entire rescue camp situation. When I visited Kanta there were 18 elephants, all of which are trained elephants rescued from previous elephant riding activities and currently living in the park. Surprisingly, the elephants are super well-behaved.
The entire activity is divided into:
🌟Feeding sugarcane to the elephants
🌟Making medicine for the elephants and delivering it to their tongues
🌟Bathing the elephant
Feeding sugarcane is so much fun! It would be fed for a long time, and the distance is quite close, so you can take a lot of photos! There is also no bad smell on the elephant, it's very clean. If you don't like it, don't go into the water, I went down and touched it.
Because you will get dirty they provide a uniform elephant suit (it seems to be the only one that provides clothes), I really like it! it gives a very integrated feeling!
The whole process will also have a photographer taking pictures, basically all my photos are taken by the photographer, I super like them. The price is also very cheap, 400 baht for a single person, 500 for two. Then you just leave an email address for a Google Drive link to download.✨
