Freda Carrow, the most legendary painter in Mexico, once said, "I paint myself because I know myself well and I am the most suitable subject for me." Her iconic eyebrows, Mexican-style attire, and the intense magical expressiveness of extreme pain give her works a unique vitality.
She stated, "I don't paint dreams, nor nightmares, I only paint my true self." At the age of 18, a physical defect resulted from a traffic accident, and a tumultuous love-hate relationship with her husband Diego. These events added vibrant colors to her soul. She said, "I paint this painting not to depict what I see, but to express what I feel in my heart."
From the moment he first read Frida's autobiography, he was captivated by her story. Therefore, when he was in Mexico City, he dedicated half a day to visiting Frida's old house. This unique residence exuded Frida's distinctive artistic atmosphere and personality. Bright colors, decorations, and exciting artworks filled the blue house. Being in the blue house felt strangely quiet. Although most of her works were not displayed there, one could still sense her authentic essence from the arrangement and decor.

🚗I took an Uber from downtown, which took about 20 minutes.
🎫I recommend purchasing tickets in advance through the official website (ticket entrance on Google Maps). This way, you can skip the ticket queue and enter directly. 💰Adult tickets cost 270 pesos.
If you wish to take photos 📷, you will need to purchase an additional photo permit for 39 pesos (available at the museum entrance).
⚠️Please note that the museum is closed on Mondays!
