Children's Montessori Center of Via Verde enrolls infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners. Our certified Montessori program also offers extended day care for working parents. We understand how complicated life can be with working full time and raising a family, and it's our desire to make your life easier and help prepare your child for a lifetime of success. Enrollment for our school, which is located in San Dimas, California, is open year-round.
The Montessori Method
Developed by Maria Montessori, the Montessori method of education is tried and tested with more than a century of proven success with children at the early stages of life.
Montessori schools feature a balanced curriculum that includes academics, wellness, self-awareness, conflict resolution, citizenship, and physical education.
To assist in academic achievement, the method emphasizes problem solving, critical thinking, and creative expression.
In both our infants and toddlers program and our preschool and kindergarten program, children inspire one another to become powerful learners. This is achieved by developing responsibility and independence, working cooperatively, accepting challenges, appreciating diversity, practicing effective communication, encouraging effective leadership, becoming risk takers, and building awareness.
Individualized Attention
At our Montessori school, the students, staff, families, and community work together to make teaching and learning exciting while supporting the physical, social, and emotional growth of your child. We pay individual attention to every child and allow them to work and learn at their own pace.
NAEYC Accredited
Our Montessori programs are among the top in the nation by earning the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation, the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals. We're proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professional standards. NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences possible.
To earn the NAEYC Accreditation our schools went through an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. The program received NAEYC Accreditation after an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to ensure that the program meets each of the ten program standards. NAEYC-accredited programs are also subject to unannounced visits during their accreditation, which lasts for five years.
In the 25 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education. Approximately only 8 percent of all preschools and other early childhood programs are accredited by NAEYC nationwide.

Infant & Toddler Care
Allow your child to absorb his or her environment holistically in the infant and toddler care program at Children's Montessori Center of Via Verde in San Dimas, California. With the goal of developing children's language and motor skills, we start them in a prepared environment and gradually introduce them to stimuli and appropriate objects for sensorial experiences and manipulation.
During the first three years, the child creates the foundation for the person he or she is going to become. In this short period of movements and patterns, children acquire language and abstract thoughts begin to occur. Infants and toddlers develop large body movements and gross motor development for balance in a supervised outdoor setting, where they enjoy the outdoors and develop independence.
Infants & Toddlers
Enrolling your child in our infant and toddler care program requires an annual nonrefundable registration fee of $200 and two weeks' tuition deposit. Tuition may be paid weekly (due on Monday) or monthly (due on the first of each month).

Music & Arts: Art is an integral part of our educational program. There is a variety of safe media available, such as easel painting, watercolor, clay, and crayons. Music is a part of our group time activities and involves singing, rhythm, and movement.
Science Studies: Children are naturally curious about themselves and the world around them. In science studies, they are encouraged to observe the changes in the environment, explore animal, human, and plant life, and experiment with the elements and tools, such as air, water, and wheels.
Sensorial Education: Montessori sensorial materials assist your child in learning to differentiate between sizes, shapes, colors, textures, sounds, and tastes. Through these activities, your child learns to evaluate and find solutions to concrete problems.
The World of Numbers: Children gain knowledge of the world of numbers and their functions through interactive manipulation of concrete Montessori materials. This knowledge is reinforced through play-oriented activities, such as building with blocks and measuring sand, water, or ingredients for cooking.
Language Arts: Reading, listening to stories, speaking, and writing are all important exercises in our language arts program. Children are encouraged to communicate their ideas and feelings through dramatic play, drawings, sharing time and eventually through writing about their own experiences using tactile Montessori materials. Your children are also introduced to various languages from around the world, including Chinese, English, and Spanish.
Extracurricular Activities: At Children's Montessori Center of Via Verde, we offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including music, dance, computer, swimming, and Spanish lessons. We also take them on field trips to museums, the library, and other places which allow our kids to explore the world around them with their friends and teachers.
Summer Camp
Keep the Montessori method of learning and fun going all year long by enrolling your child in our imaginative summer camp program. Each week of the five-week camp features a different educational theme. Themes are as follows:
Science Made Easy – We make science fun with hands-on learning. Children engage in science experiments that tickle their minds and leave them in awe.
Preschool Chef's Gourmet Kitchen – Cooking for children is a fun and educational activity. By participating in food preparation, children learn about nutrition, math, languages, and science all rolled into fun activities. Some of the interesting recipes we make include Rainforest Delight, Orange Jupiter, Stone Soup, and Pull Taffy
Children's Olympics – We celebrate Olympic fun and games as the children go for the gold. The spirit of unity and sportsmanship is the focus of the week.
Kids' Art Affair – We capture the children's creativity as we introduce an art enrichment program that highlights the budding artists of our school.
Watery Play – Children celebrate the summer season and have lots of fun playing outside and in the water.
